It’s summer time and the weather is fabulous.  The perfect time for getting together with friends and family, at a barbecue, the beach, the park, music festivals or weddings. And that, of course, means cracking open the booze, doesn’t it?  Well, not necessarily.

No longer is it considered to be unsociable to turn down an alcoholic drink. In fact, whereas on a summer afternoon get together a few years ago only being the designated driver, pregnant or on antibiotics would allow you an excuse not to consume plenty of alcohol, these days there might well be several members of a group having a good time without a drop of alcohol passing their lips. Sobriety is becoming increasingly fashionable.

Dry January and Stoptober have made people think about their drinking habits and the impact alcohol has on their health. And the younger generations are increasingly turning their back on the idea that alcohol is part of day-to-day life and ‘just something you do’.

Hence, most people are now familiar with mocktails and, of course, most are a healthier version than their alcoholic counterparts. But what if they could actually be health-giving? Well, they could be super-healthy if you include Water Kefir. Water kefir is a delicious, healthy, gut-friendly drink full of the probiotic benefits of Kefir, while also being vegan.

So, if you are hosting or attending a gathering this summer and either not drinking yourself or know other guests that would appreciate a non-alcoholic drink that is a bit more interesting than lemonade, why not give these not-so-bad-boys a try:
